What is the Law of Attraction: A Beginner’s Guide
Personally, I am someone who believes in the Law of Attraction because I have been practising it since I was a little girl and it has brought many amazing things, experiences and people into my life. I guess you’ve probably already heard of the Law of Attraction – may be one of your friends practises this law and they have a much happier life after trying manifestation techniques. It’s a hugely popular philosophy that people say can help with everything.
In this post, I’ll take you through a beginner’s guide to the Law of Attraction, from how to use the Law of Attraction to the best books on the subject.
What is the Law of Attraction?
Put simply, the Law of Attraction is based on the concept that YOU ARE WHAT YOU ATTRACT.
Your current situation is the result of everything you have been thinking throughout your life. So, to bring more positive things into your life, you need to focus more on positive thoughts and reduce negative thoughts. This is a very powerful idea, and the most skilled practitioners can use it to great effect. It can help you with anything. Nothing is too big.
Does the Law of Attraction Work?
You might be thinking that this sounds too good to be true. And even people who have been applying the Law for years can have moments of doubt. But plenty of people have stories to tell about how their life has been improved by putting the Law into action. And that’s the key to living the Law of Attraction – action! Some people think that the Law of Attraction means that you get what you visualise, like a magic genie granting a wish. That’s not true at all. Replacing your negative thoughts and feelings with positive ones will attract positivity to your life, but only if you actually put in the work as well. Filling your mind with positive thoughts will give you the kind of good feeling that makes you want to put in that work. Whether or not you fully achieve your ultimate goal, those good feelings and a positive mindset are also a form of success!
How to Apply the Law of Attraction
If you’re interested in learning more about the Law of Attraction, we’ve linked to some great books at the end of this post. You can also search for a few videos about this topic. I will write about my experience with the Law of Attraction soon. But if you want to get started right away, here are a few simple steps to help you bring the benefits of the Law of Attraction into your life.
Choose to Be Positive
I am not suggesting that you can be positive all the time – life just doesn’t work that way. But when something negative happens in your life, you can choose how you deal with it. If you want to attract good things into your life, choosing a positive, problem-solving attitude is more effective than being negative.
Do the Things You Love
Doing things you love is a great way to attract more joy into your life. So do things that make you happy, eat delicious foods, and spend time with the people you love – even if that’s over a Zoom call! Of course, you can’t avoid life’s mundane tasks, but a positive mindset will make them seem less of a chore.
Appreciation for the good things that are already in your life is a powerful way to raise your frequency. A gratitude journal is a place to note down the good things in your life, from good health and clean water to your delicious dinner or the way your partner made you laugh. You could either write a list of things that come to mind each day, or a daily in-depth account of one thing you are grateful for.
Meditating is another powerful way to raise your frequency and fill your mind with positive thoughts and energy. According to the Law of Attraction, meditation used in combination with affirmations and gratitude journaling is a particularly effective way to boost your mood.
Visualisation means thinking about the thing you want in so much detail that you feel like you already have it! So decide on your goal, and think about the way it looks, what it smells like, what it feels like, and how you will feel when you have it. I really like to use Pinterest and save pictures, so I can see them again and again. It helps me to visualise what I would like to do or have. Don’t worry about how you are going to get it, just believe that one day you will!
Start off Small
Theoretically, it shouldn’t be more difficult to manifest a new car than to manifest a cup of coffee. But if the doubts start to creep in, the manifestation process is doomed to fail.
Starting with something small means that you’re less likely to feel those doubts. And once you’ve seen for yourself that it works, you can move onto bigger goals. Image something small you really want and think about it very often. Imagine how it is to already have it.
